On October 29 we celebrated "Justicia Global Palos del campo y los de la ciudad"
in San Cristóbal with the members of the Asociación de Convites Campesino del Ramón. "Palos" are the traditional Dominican drums visible in the image. Drummers from San Cristóbal and musicians from the Santo Domingo band,
Batey 0, shared in a rich exchange of percussion and dance.
The event's slogan has two meanings: "Drums from the country and from the city" and "Global Justice for those from the country and from the city."
A group of diverse and enthusiastic members and collaborators of Justicia Global from Santo Domingo and Boca Chica traveled to Boca de Los Calimetes in San Cristóbal to enjoy the fiesta de palos.
The Convite members, the hosts of the activity, received their visitors with the hospitality and caring they are known for.
All day as we played drums, sang and danced, we were surrounded by an atmosphere of joy and solidarity.
